what's in your medicine cabinet?

sketch by vicky.

so, since it's winter and what-not
my daily 'getting ready' regime has changed quite a bit,
so i thought i'd tell you my favorite products
(especially for winter!)
and you can tell me yours.

V05 hot oil shower works!

this stuff is excellent
& it really improves the look/feel of my hair.

hope in a jar

i think i may have been OK with the regular hope in a jar
because this one is a bit thick but it's good for your neck & hands.

ponds cold cream

my mom told me she knew a lady who used this stuff
since she was 18 - and now she's like ... 80-something
and she looks gorgeous - hardly any wrinkles!

healthy skin blends

i trust neutrogena's products
and i really like this stuff.
it stays on and it looks fresh
even though it's powder.

c.o. bigelow chapstick
(you may also like the lipgloss)

this stuff is incredible & it tastes delicious!!

hair rollers

i've been cutting back on blow drying my hair lately,
so instead i let it air dry,
pop in some rollers for 15 minutes
and then style with pomade.
(my hair feels amazing since i started doing this!)

aveeno ultra-calming moisturizer

this is my absolute-favorite-i-can-not-live-without stuff!
it's amazingly soft, oil-free, hypoallergenic & noncomedogenic -
perfect to wear under your makeup & to bed.

that's it for me - SO, tell me your secrets!

p.s.
has anyone tried the new almay pure blends makeup line?
if so, how was it?

  1. Drugstore solutions! I love this kind of post! :-)

Totally with you on Aveeno, I've trusted it for years and it's been amazing on my skin. The day and night moisturizers are excellent. Ever come across its shaving foam? Brilliant!

I'm crazy about Nivea, especially the body lotion with almond oil, which is the only thing that works for me in this weather.

I've a friend who's trusted Oil of Olay for his nightly regimen since he was 18, and now that he's in his 40s and sporting impossibly supple and smooth skin, I believe the dedication has paid off!

I trust John Frieda and Paul Mitchell for frizziness in this weather, and Burt's Bees for my lips and cuticles.

Thanks for sharing your secrets! ;-)

  3. Oh...Neutrogena does cosmetics! I can't believe I didn't know about that. I love their cleansing/mosturizing products (so true about them being trustworthy). I'll definitely have to check out the makeup! Thanks for the heads-up.
