i need your help!
joe & i are planning on taking a road trip in 5 weeks and we don't know where to go.
i mean ... we have an idea,
but we just haven't settled on anything quite yet.
we live in the milwaukee area and we are dying to travel south!
our initial plan was to see:
asheville, nc
the smoky mountains
nashville
& then swing back on home ... but now we're wondering if that's what we really want to do.
i would like to visit mississippi ... my friend traveled through & said it was just beautiful.
georgia sounds nice.
and tennessee, too.
ya see what i mean?
i just can't decide.
we want beautiful scenery.
for sure.
and we have 5 days off work to be on the road.
i kinda want the beach.
and sand ... yes, sand & warm weather!
maybe we should just fly somewhere?
ok, now i'm just thinking out loud ...
any ideas?
we clearly need some direction.

As much as I love a long drive, you may want to consider flying somewhere, renting a car, and day-tripping. If you're wanting the shore, I'd agree with sb's comment and do Savannah & Gerogia barrier islands, and Amelia Island, FL (just over the border). North Carolina's barrier islands are gorgeous too. If you're leaning toward mountains, then definitely do Nashville to Asheville route. Two super-cool cities and it's such a beautiful drive, with great places to hike along the way. I'm not sure I'm helping narrow it down, am I? I can't wait to hear more about your trip!
